What's All The Personal Branding BS about?

Many have become confused about what Personal Branding is. Most have a mythical idea that it's about putting video on your website, but that's the BS. It's much more than that.

It all started with a coaching session I had in 2007 with a prominent Global Resorts affiliate who was wanting to know how I was winning all the sales awards and keeping myself on the top sales list. I didn't have time to go into detail, but I explained it was about personal branding and that video would be the way to go to get that done. What was missing was the YEARS of equity required to really create the brand.

Top personal brands are everywhere. Real Estate, TV, Basketball, and even communications. Who instantly comes to mind when you think of these subjects? Trump, Oprah, Jordan, and Regan, right? How does it happen? Years of personal branding building.

Donald Trump began building his brand as a child. His fathers office became the place where he built with wood blocks. It didn't hurt that his Dad was in the real estate business. He's now knows as "The Trumpster" and you can now "Trump" the competion. He's my favorite billionaire to watch.

Donald Trump was not the billionaire first, he started out looking to move into Manhattan. He did it slow, but he had big goals. His first project in Manhattan allowed him to turn a burned out hotel into a shiny new gem. Ahh...the reputation that allowed him to goto his next project.

Personal branding is about developing a reputation. It's about building a track record. It's about being the first name that comes to mind when thinking about a topic. I've been doing personal branding since 2002. People often tell me "Your Everywhere!" This has become a part of my personal brand.

As you learn more about personal branding and how Global Resorts affiliates should be using it, you begin to see that most don't even understand it. You want to be UNIQUE, yet when you look at the websites of Global Resorts affiliates, you see that many look almost exactly alike.

I do marketing coaching, that's part of my brand. So, I spend 80% of my coaching time teaching my team members to market their global resorts business. Building a personal brand requires consistency, uniqueness, understandability, must be focused and must fill a need the market has.

Don't become another statistic and be just another person selling Global Resorts Network Memberships. Don't buy the Personal Branding, YouTube, and Google Adwords Marketing BS. Do your research and find a marketing plan that allows you to be successful.
