Tube Cutting Services Expanded at Ohio Laser

By Graham McPatrick

Tube cutting services have been expanded at Ohio Laser LLC with the recent addition of advanced laser tube cutting technologies. While industrial laser tube cutting is complex, it offers significant costs savings in production for many manufacturing products.

The new laser tube cutting system boasts 3000 Watts of power for tube cutting and cuts thicknesses of aluminum tubes to .125 inch, stainless steel tubes to .25 inch, and carbon steel tubes to .625 inch.

This computer aided design driven tube cutting machinery can accommodate oval, rectangular, round, and square tubes with outside dimensions between .75 through 4 inch square and 6 inch round.

This laser tube cutting system lowers weld fixture investments and raises productivity by employing plug in connections or kinking capabilities.

The industrial tube cutting system has totally programmable focusing, tube cutting speeds as fast as 2362 inches per minute, and an automated pallet changing function.

In this respect the auto feeder handles 21 foot long carbon steel tubes, stainless steel tubes and aluminum tubes that are up to .25 inches thick. Companies wishing to process tubes up to 24 feet long can take advantage of manual loading feature.

Some laser tube cutting benefits include almost unlimited cutting configurations, elimination of stack up tolerances inherent in multiple operations, no tooling charges, reduced lot sizes and processing of a wide variety of metal alloys.

Industrial production tube cutting technology at Ohio Laser also permits faster production of frames, racks, supports, trusses, manifolds or any other item from cut tubes.

Various manufactured components produced using laser tube cutting include all terrain vehicles (ATVs) like go karts and four wheelers, ornamental railing, medical beds, adjustable basketball systems, shelving, warehouse racking systems, wheel chairs, store fixtures, food guards, point of purchase display systems, outdoor signage and bed frames.
