Transitioning From Job To Work At Home

By John Cosola

In your search for a home based business you will be overwhelmed by the number of opportunities available for you to chose from. You will be looking for an business that will totally replace and hopefully dwarf your current income. Since there are so many you need to narrow the field.

Although you will find most opportunities will claim to take just a few hours a week to make it big such is not the case. It sounds great but it does take time to become successful, and time management is key.

Like any other money making plan of action, it takes time and effort to make life changing money. If it didn't take hard work and dedication everyone would suceed in the home business arena. The fact is 95% of people fail. The reason being is that they just don't persist, and do not do what it takes to make their business successful.

So the first rule in trying to transition to a home based business is be prepared to work it hard. You see there is a learning curve when entering into a new business, especially if you have no experience in the industry. Whether it is a multi level marketing company(MLM) or a direct sales internet marketing business, there is a lot to learn.

When you are sure you have what it takes to focus and dedicate your time and efforts then you need to take the next step. That would be picking a business or program that you feel strongly about.

When choosing your business make sure you know what your getting in to. MLM businesses tend to be very complex. From the hundreds of products you need to have knowledge of(otherwise how could you sell them with conviction) to the very complex ever changing compensation plan. Direct sales has a much shorter learning curve.

So what I suggest is that you find a direct sales company with good leadership, great training, and products you can sell. There are no quotas to meet, you don't need to stock products and you can make a lot more money a lot quicker.

After you have tackled all those tough decisions, take a hard look at the person who is sponsoring you into the business. They should convey a leadership quality. Look for someone who has some experience so they can help you avoid the mistakes they made along the way. And make sure they answer their phone!!

Now that you have chosen the business and the person you feel comfortable with as your sponsor, you need an organized schedule in which you will work the business. You need to work around your current obligations, while pusuing this new opportunity. Whether it be early mornings before work, or late nights and weekends, a schedule is a must to keep you on track.

If you have a lot of free time right now then you are ahead of the game. Most have very busy schedules, but if you are busy make sure you do at least a little something every day. This builds on itself and before you know it you have accomplished a lot. Persistence is the key. Persitence equals success and procrastination equals failure, it's pretty cut and dry. So what will you choose?
