Hotels In Hillsboro And Hole Punches

By H. Reich

Bruce Lee put it best when he said "a punch is just a punch." Of course, he wasn't talking about the three-hole punching print shops and publishing houses have to deal with. No, he was talking about the five-fingered kind. Me, I'm talking about the three-holed kind, the kind that requires a hole-punch machine that can handle high volume punches.

Who cares about hole punches? Practically every business needs a hole punch machine. Think I'm kidding? Consider how many pages businesses or hotels in Hillsboro, New York, LA, or Des Moines go through on any given day. Punched pages for publications, reports, and inter-office memos. I know this sounds like a weird subject, but bear with me.

Don't bother with the man-powered two or three hole punch you can buy at Office Depot. Businesses or organization that employ more than 50 employees are bound (forgive the pun) to need a high-powered modular binding punch (MBP). Yes, this is significant piece of equipment that carries with it a sizable price tag. But, a MBP does more than punch holes.

You can calibrate an MBP to punch a variety of hole sizes and patterns. It can be used to punch through as many as 50 sheets of paper at a time. And time is another key ingredient with a MBP. It can fire through those 50 sheets in about one second. When you consider most desktop punches need as much as ten seconds to punch through that many pages, you can see the benefits.

Sooner or later the punch dies (the nubs that make the holes) wear out. Modular, hand, or electric punches all have to be maintained periodically. The soften and their edges round out. Now, while it's a pain to replace these punch dies, the MBP models can be disassembled in a matter of seconds and replaced in minutes. This ease of replacement could well be worth the price.
