In much the same manner a businesses' clients recognize when a company works together. When they have a question or a need they are efficiently handed off to the resident expert or skill set that can address and satisfy their need. A customer knows when there is synergy within an organization. Just the same way you know what players on your favourite team don't support or work as well with others. So how do you want your customers to perceive you and your company?

A successful team experiences success which feeds upon itself. Teams are supercharged, even energized after a big win. You see it and feel it. What happens in your office when a big sale comes through or a new launch is successful? With success, the players want to stay with the club - similarly your employees will want to stay with the company. Look at the advantage of not having to search for, hire and train new employees. Your team stays intact longer and morale is high as a result.

The above are just a few of the benefits, the most obvious ones really. But more subtle ones accrue the longer the team is together and successful. The big question is how do you build a team? It's not easy but there are a few guidelines that when adhered to certainly start to move things in a positive direction. Every good team will need a coach or a leader so the changes must start at the top of the organization. And not by paying lip service to it! The leader must be the example. The leader must work harder than anyone else and lead by example. They must be able to articulate exactly what they want to achieve and what role every team member must be responsible for. The team must understand the roles of others so that they know how they fit into the overall scheme. When they do repetition is eliminated and the trust begins to build and later respect for what each member contributes is formed.

In hockey the role and requirements of each position is understood by the other players so they can move the puck effectively and quickly from zone to zone. It is not uncommon to see a player make a blind pass to another. They do this because they know that a team member is going to be there to pick it up and fulfill their part of the play. In business one employee must trust that what they are getting from another has had sufficient attention to detail that they need not worry about it and can then add their expertise to the product or solution achieving a timely and quality delivery.

Don't hold back on praise. Remember, you get more bees with honey. When the team works well together acknowledge it. When a part fails, coach it. Review the benefits to all when things go well and the impact of one piece not delivering as it should. As the team comes together it is important to understand the time to coach and lead and the time to let go and let the players manage alone. Don't micro-manage. Let them experiment and work together to solve problems and develop new solutions.

Finally, be patient and consistent. It takes time to build a team. But it is time well spent!

I'd Far Prefer To Be Conned And Continue To Be A Worthwhile Person With A Spotless Character Than Like The Brothers Grim Who Did Me

Very Well, so the Kalmindon catastrophe is concluded. I know I've been diddled by a team of two of very clever brothers with a very creditable story, it's cost me 3,000 that I coughed up for SEO training that I could have found from the internet for zero quid, with no chance whatever of the promised clientele that was 'guaranteed upon course completion' being seen. They were meant to have a 'pool of clients' waiting to have their webpages optimised and they would merely match me up with the ones either in or adjacent to the Black Country.

Of course the unkindest thing, which is the same for all of us who have been betrayed, is not the money that we all shelled out to the Brothers Grim, but the reserves we used up in the meantime. Because they assigned us a website of their own to work on which needed plenty of articles, 50 in my case, in the anticipation that a paying client was just around the corner and I could start to generate some sort of income. In my case that means that as I started the training in April I have been using my own money to support us during that period and now here we are in November and it is almost all gone. Luckily, the cost of living in the Black Country is much lower than it would be in many places, but it couldn't continue forever, and it didn't.

But, what I have come away with is the knowledge that I was not alone and some intelligent people have also been done equally so I'm not the only prat. The other is that I have learnt how to do SEO, something that I didn't in fact know existed up to the episode but now I understand it and really enjoy doing it. To me, SEO is the ideal job as my wife is undergoing chemotherapy at the moment which means frequent journeys to hospitals around the Black Country and I can go off for a bit to go with her.

I had already been practicing a bit of IT support for small businesses in the Black Country though it merely ran to the occasional call to attach a printer or repair a crashed pc, not as regularly as I would like obviously. But what I can do now is to combine both abilities and offer SEO and IT support and hopefully attract frequent business coming in.

But while I try to find something, I may have to see about a job at the Scottish burger restaurant or at a restaurant somewhere though it is not likely to help very much as the first Mrs Izzard is about to go on half pay from now as she has been off sick for treatment for six months now. Which is of course another rather unfortunate bit of timing as far as the conning of time and money by Kalmindon is concerned.

So, although I'm not a native of the Black Country I have found them to be mainly jolly and positive folk, and I will endeavour to adopt that outlook since I am, after all a far better person than the scum-suckers who very likely feel very smug and clever at having diddled me and the others. But then that is presumably how sociopaths operate and I am a good person. So there. *Blows a raspberry!*

From that point or perspective, he has to decide which lighting, filtering and other techniques need to be used to present the proper views.

Atmosphere of a scene or series of scenes is important. The director's vision must match with the atmosphere. Blazers Pick Up Camby

The Portland Trailblazers have needed a big inside presence ever since starting center Greg Oden and backup Joel Pryzbilla went down with season ending injuries. They finally found one on Tuesday as they acquired veteran Marcus Camby from the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers received forward Travis Outlaw and guard Steve Blake. Camby is expected to make his debut in a Blazers' uniform on Friday when Portland hosts the Boston Celtics.

The transaction also served to answer the nagging question about Portland's point guard situation. Steve Blake and Andre Miller have shared time running the offense, but Blazers' management apparently felt that Miller was a better fit with superstar shooting guard Brandon Roy.

All three players involved are in the final year of their current contract, meaning that barring anything unforeseen Camby's career in Portland will probably last only 23 games plus the playoffs. Outlaw and Blake may or may not fit into the Clippers longterm plans.

Camby was introduced to the Rose Garden crowd during Portland's rout of his old team, the LA Clippers receiving a standing ovation. Earlier, he'd indicated that he was excited to be going to the Blazers:

"I think it's a great situation for myself. It's a first-class organization that really takes care of their own. I hope I can bring my knowledge of the game, and blend in these last 27 games. I'm really excited to be here."

He talked about the strange situation of actually being in Portland when the trade went down:

"I only brought one change of clothes. It's been a real rough, rough 24 hours for me, but real exciting at the same time."

Camby also said that he's interesting in staying in 'Rip City' longterm:

"Hopefully things work out for myself and work out for the team. Hopefully they have plans for me in the long term."

Portland GM Kevin Pritchard added:

"We are very excited to bring an experienced big man of Marcus' caliber to the team and we feel he'll help us a great deal down the stretch run. He's a fierce competitor and has been one of the league's best defensive players for quite some time."

The 35 year old Camby has long been considered one of the NBA's best defensive big men. Despite playing on a LA Clippers team well off the playoff pace in the Western Conference, he's second in the league in rebounds with 12.1 per game.
