Don't Let People Who Want To Take You Down

By Helen Fields

It is a tough world when you are in the business of sales. People build their reputation as good salesperson only to end up being badmouthed by other people especially with your competition.

But, whatever it is that they have against you, it is better that you do not badmouth them in return. It will swing back against you and you will have a hard time convincing your clients about it.

In a competition-filled job, you will all the strength not to be left behind the competition. In other words, you will have to have the will not to be let down by badmouthing competition. Here are some tips for you to avoid badmouthing your competition as well as avoid getting badmouths as well.

As discussed above, retaliating your enemies through badmouthing only goes to show that you are as low as they are. Always stay above them and be professional.

Look at the positive side of things. People tend to spread lies and negative comments about you and your product just so they can get ahead of you. Try to look at a more positive light when clients say something negative about you. Tell them that you are not what they think and that you can prove it to them.

Since you are already looking at the positive side of things, why not do them. Taking your positive outlook in life and in your work into action will only prove to you and your client that you are not the person who those people are talking about.

Control the conversation and clear the issue right away. Do not let the conversation linger on the negative aspect but steer them into the positive light. Always get to the point of why you are there. You are there to help your client and not talk about your reputation.

The less you focus on your competition the more you pull yourself away from them. It is better that you put your mind on the job rather than those negative rumors about you. - 2364
